A Personal Approach
I am a graphic designer, but what does that mean exactly? This question comes up time and time again, whether you are an art school graduate or you just a curious uncle. Everybody has their personal approach towards answering this question and because of this, graphic design can be considered an art-form. But before we get neck deep into a philosophical discussion about art: Graphic Design is concerned with the production of visual material for all sort of purposes usually of a commercial or informational nature. There you have it a short and snappy definition. Nowadays graphic design includes websites, magazines, logos and advertisements but also consider signs, illustrations, instructions and maps.
